Configuring BlueRetro for the 8Bitdo GameCube Controller mod PCB

This Guide addresses using this new controller mod on our GameCube BlueRetro Internal adapter, most of these steps should also work with the single port adapters, but you will need to substitute the firmware for hw1 instead.

First you need to have firmware version v24.10 hw2 or higher installed on your adapter. Download here: https://darthcloud.itch.io/blueretro Follow the install guide here: BlueRetro Web Config User Guide OTA Firmware Update

Next you will need to change the preset in the advanced config menu:

Go here: https://blueretro.io/presets.html

For each controller slot you wish to use the 8Bitdo Controller on you need to set the output to Default Gamepad only.

So if you plan to use on player one choose output 1 and set Gamepad only

repeat for output 2-4 as needed. and hit save after adjusting each one.

Then move onto advanced config: https://blueretro.io/advance.html

There are a lot of options but the only one we are concerned with is output config,
This option allows us to enable rumble. If it's not set you want to change each output to GamePad and Rumble. Save each change as you go.

Now that these settings are enabled we can pair the controller.
We want the controller in what 8Bitdo calls Android mode. This is the only mode that sends the analog trigger values.
Initiate pairing mode by holding B and Start until the LED start flashing rapidly.
Once connected it should come up as paired and have all the controls expected from a GameCube Controller.

Once paired you do not need to go through the pairing process each time, just hold start to turn on the controller.
